German Sheperd Nipping at legs
Good morning all,
I recently adopted a 6 month old female German Shepherd and we (the dog and my family) are adapting well to the change. She does have this one annoying habit that I can only assume is a result of her shepherding ancestry. Whenever my wife is walking, she follows behind her and nips at her calves and ankles. She is not doing this to be mean, but she is leaving some bruises. She also does this to my sister-in-law whenever she comes over to visit. I can only assume she is attempting to "herd" them. I am beginning basic obedience classes this Saturday. Will that help? If not, what can I do to get her to stop doing this? I do not want to give up on the dog, but if she continues to hurt my wife, I don't know what else I can do. Please email me with any help you can provide. Thank you. Blair Woodmansee |
