Default bonfire night

I have read several articles in this newsgroup regarding the common problem
of dogs who are frightened of fireworks.
My mother claims credit for both dogs we have had over the years not being
afraid.
In each case when they were young she held them in her arms at the window
and watched the fireworks just as you would with a toddler - telling them
now nice it was - she claims it worked!!! Who knows, but the Westie we had
for 16 years and the Shih Tzu we have now have no reaction when bonfire
night comes along - it's just another night to lie and snooze.

Did it work ???
