Default Poor scared dogs of a different color

So sad I had to flip back to the adopted ones to recover.
Melanie, considering all you've endured and learned, when can you find
time to become active in rescue? Wish you were here. We have two BCs
you won't find on our website because they're not adoptable. Beginning
to doubt they ever will be.
A couple of volunteers spend many quiet hours with them every day, but
neither has your knowledge and expeience.

Seriously, at some point you might have
to evaluate their quality of life and make
some hard decisions.

Because we're small (40 dogs) with many volunteers, their quality of
life isn't that bad. They've improved a little and seem to enjoy their
time with people they know. Still fear-aggressive with people they
don't know.
Good on you for the work you do. We each have to do what we _can. I
try not to walk dogs because I get too bonded and agonize.
Several good people here have expressed concern for Hilde who's been
with us so long. But, she's a big favorite and is usually moseying
along by someone's side. However, it's too noisy, and she deserves a
family of her own.
My newest ploy? Saturday is our Walkathon with showers predicted.
I'm going to stand in the middle of the busiest intersection with Hilde,
directing traffic. If that doesn't demonstrate her stability to the
world, what will? Bought her a new yellow slicker -- she looks good.

There's a bit of a mystery about
their color. They look like some sort of deep sable.

Sable merles. It's harder to see the sabling on a sable merle especially as
adults, which is one reason sheltie breeders are discouraged from doing
breedings likely to produce sable merles.

I swear "cloud" looks a heck of a lot like puppies from a local sport
breeder.

Wonder if he is a double, or just a very white factored blue?

I'm wondering about that, as well. His coloration is very similar to that
of Jana's Pepper (rough collie), who IS a double.
