Default Men and their dogs

At our Walkathon Saturday, I went about telling everybody what
terrific dogs they had. Noticed men would keep looking at me and smile
with satisfaction. Women would bend over, pet their dog, and say, "Oh,
yes! Isn't she wonderful?!
Rpdb members who teach have remarked on the problem they have of
getting men to loosen up and .... enthuse. It would seem to me that
women should have obviously more responsive and better socialized dogs.
Not sure I really see that in practice, though. What differences do you
see?
