begging dog
Is it really very bad to sneak a treat to a dog begging at the table if the
rest of the family doesn't mind. One of our dogs is VERY vocal while we are eating and I'm getting desparate Tried feeding them while we were eating, and before we were eating. Tried saving a bite for them after our dinner is over. Tried locking the noisy one in bedroom while we ate - the barking was still disturbing to our digestive systems. Any ideas welcome! --sunny |

One of our dogs is VERY vocal while we are eating and I'm getting desparate And it will only get worse if you keep giving positive reinforcement. Put the beast on a leash, sit on it and ignore the dog, giving corrections (many choices here - both verbal and physical). It's not really about the table behavior alone though. It's about what the dog thinks he can do to push you around and demand things from you. Obedience training is in order - you have a brat.
