Weekend Update (By Marcel for Moogli)
Once again, a short one.
As with most people on the eastern coast of North America, we got a nasty storm the middle of last week. However, ours was combined with a rain/sleet/snow combination that rather quickly froze things over. Needless to say, it provided a little bit of amusement for me while taking Moogli out for a walk. Being a good little boy dog, and despite being neutered, he lifts his leg on almost any vertical surface. Being less than a foot tall, it is very easy for something to be tall enough for him to markg. If it (the vertical object) was on a slope, he would end up slipping down the hill, usually spraying in a nice little pattern. He never seemed to figure it out. The other funny part was when we were walking along the road, and a strong (90- 100 km/h) gust of wind would appear. A 10lb dog on ice makes no real headway in that type of condition. Come to think of it, neither does a 190lb man. One of the roads that we walk along is a failed attempt at developing an industrial area. There are only 3 businesses the whole length of the road (about 2 km), and the rest is overgrown with weeds/trees. The city uses a large industrial grass cutter to keep it clear for about 4 or 5 feet back from the curve. The last couple times that we have been walking by there, Moogli has been shoving his face into the pile of cuttings left behind (about 1 foot high by about 3 feet around), pushing it around, snuffling, snorting and followed by rolling on his back and twisting back and forth making rather pig- like snorting sounds. Sunday night was the regular supper at the in-laws place. As usual, we brought Moogli so that he could play with Cocotte. As usual, a good time was had by all. There was much fighting, and it seems to be getting rougher. I think it is because Moogli is growing up and getting a bit stronger. He is learning (slowly) how to play tug with Cocotte, as well as bitey face. He really likes chasing her when she has a toy though. For two dogs about 10-12 pounds each, they make a lot of noise running around. They also tend to take the corners pretty wide, sliding into walls and furniture when running at high speed. 5 hours of non-stop fighting and running really takes a lot out of a guy. Once insatlled in the car, he was asleep on Gen's lap before I had even finished backing out of the driveway. And once we got home and we had started working on the computers, Moogli didn't even ask to get up on a lap. just curled up on the floor and went to sleep. Anyways, I gots to go!! Thanks for reading. -- ******************************************* Marcel Beaudoin & Moogli ******************************************* 'If people could put rainbows in zoos, they'd do it.' -- Hobbes ******************************************* |
