house training
Hi, I have two german shorthaired pointer pups, a 7 month old female
and a 5month old male. The female was fully house broken at 3-4 months old. The male, well i got him pooped trained around 4 months but he still pee's in the house. He will also pee in his crate. I have his crate set up (now) so that he has a plastic drawer in the back of his crate to pee in. I got tired of washing his blanket every morning before work. I let him out every fifteen minutes to half hour when possible, but he still pee's on the floor and furniture. He knows he's not supposed to cause he looks real guilty and slinks away. If i put him out right after peeing on the floor he will still pee a decent amount. Any advice on getting him to go to the door and let me know when he needs out? I love him to death and dont want to give him up, but i dont want to keep him forever if he's not going to get housebroken. my vet said it is next to impossible to housetrain a dog that will go in their crate. Any advice? Thanx, Steve |
