Pet insurance
Checking on the free 2-months of health insurance offered to shelter
adoptees through Petfinders, I notice the note below at the end. How did they arrive at the list of 'extra cost' breeds? Statistically? Most are large, but what else? and poor Shar Peis. ================================= There is a small "Select" breed surcharge Some breeds of dogs are more susceptible to certain illnesses, therefore QuickCare Gold and QuickCare Senior premiums are slightly higher for the following "Select" breeds: Basset Hounds, Boxers, Bulldogs, Deerhounds, Doberman Pinschers, Dogue de Bordeaux, Greyhounds, Great Danes, Irish Wolfhounds, Leonbergers, all Mastiff Breeds, Mountain Dogs (Bernese, Estrelia, Pyrenees), Newfoundlands, Old English Sheepdogs, Rottweilers, Chinese Shar-Pei, St. Bernards. (Chinese Shar Pei breed is eligible for accident coverage only.) |
