Connecticut Church Holds Pet-Friendly Service
STAMFORD, Conn. -- The joyful noise at a Connecticut church is often
dogs barking. =A0Once each month, St. Francis Episcopal Church in
Stamford holds a service at which people can bring their pets. The Rev.
Molly McGreevy said, "We don't mind the noise -- that's just the animals
praying." =A0The services include communion -- for the people, not the
animals. But the Rev. Bartlett Gage, who pastors another Episcopal
congregation in Stamford, doesn't intend to follow St. Francis's
example. He said that while animals are important in people's lives,
they have no place romping in the pews.
