I don't know if someone's already posted something about this, but I
just came across it in a magazine and thought that most folks here
might want to know about it (and mark their calendars accordingly).
Anyway, it couldn't hurt to post it again.

On January 25 (or 27, depending on whom you ask) at 10 PM, HBO's
documentary series, "America Undercover," will present "Shelter Dogs,"
by filmmaker Cynthia Wade. Wade "zeroes in on shelter owner and dog
trainer Sue Sternberg and her Rondout Valley Kennels in New York's
Ulster County."

about the pet overpopulation/shelter problem,"Best Friend Forgotten,"
narrated by David Duchovny.

Thanks for the heads-up. I plan to watch, especially the one with Sue
Sternberg. I've always been torn about her techniques. There's alot I
disagree with on a "sit on your ass and judge when you're not doing it
yourself" level but there's also alot I do agree with, from actual
practice.

I'm also torn about my wish to see weekly PSAs on major network stations
about the pet overpopulation problem. I think public exposure will be
beneficial and wish more if it were to be had *but* there's also the
downside of adopting out of sympathy when you shouldn't be adopting at all.
