Default Sheep or sheepdog?

Today was Pepper's first real face-to-face meeting with livestock (except
horses). My fiance's parents live out in the country, and their neighbors have
a farm with sheep, llamas, and miniature donkeys living all together in a
pasture. I walked Pepper just outside the fence, and the animals were
fascinated. Especially the llamas, which craned their necks over the fence for
a closer look. Pepper ran up to them, wagging her tail wildly, eager to touch
noses through the fence. She brought me a stick to throw, and when I obliged
the llamas and one donkey ran right along the fence to see what was going on
(the sheep were a little more cautious). When Pepper noticed she was being
watched, she reacted the same way she would have if a large dog was eyeing her:
she looked at them, looked away from the stick, and trotted away with her tail
held high - "I didn't really want that old stick anyway".
She's five and a half months old - is it normal for her to treat sheep and
llamas as peers instead of prey? Pepper is extremely friendly, and it actually
took a bit of doing to keep her from "playing" with horses and instead leave a
respectful distance. She actually play bowed at my sister's Pinto the first
time they met g. Will she be more "predatory" if she encounters sheep in a
group in open pasture? Sheep would definately be less threatening than the
llamas - they were skittish and flocked, unlike the independant llamas.
