Default Ping Bethgsd (& other Mid-Atlantic agility folks) NADAC in VA in Feb.

Just an FYI- my club's e-mail list recieved notification that the club
sponsoring said NADAC trial (the one scheduled to be held in VA in February)
was very interested in having our members enter (because we have a
reputation for/history of helping new clubs out w/experienced volunteers).
Many of us - myself included- already had plans to enter, since this trial
would make a replacement for no-longer-in-existence Blue Ridge event that we
used to open the season with.
However, until this point, none of us had realized that the VA trial is
scheduled to be held OUTDOORS. At the end of February. At the same time
when, last year, we still had snow on the ground. (In fact, there was still
snow on the ground a week before the Roanoke trial at the end of MARCH- the
first outdoor trial that most of us do. That was unusual, but snow in Feb.
is not.)

None of us is willing to risk entering a trial where there's a very
distinct possibility that the ground will still be frozen (no way in hell
are we going to run our dogs on the equivalent of concrete!!), or even that
there could be snow and ice on the ground.
Not unless we have assurance that either there is a replacement indoor
site, or that we will get full refunds if weather forces cancellation of the
trial- INCLUDING weather that is cold enough for the ground to be frozen.

The judge for the trial (who sometimes practices with us) has contacted
the club for clarification on their plans if the ground is frozen, or there
is snow/ice, & if y'all are interested, I'll pass on what we find out.
