Default Hey Suja!

I just had to tell you a story. Maybe you don't remember but I had talked
with you about a GSD at our agility class who is very fearful of both
strangers and strange dogs. He just shakes all over. But he seems like a
really sweet dog with his own family.

Anyway, you made some suggestions about how DH should deal with the dog to
make friends. Mostly things about being very careful about not making eye
contact and such. He has worked and worked at it (while talking hunting
with the owners).

The dog would previously let us near - and as long as we didn''t reach out
to him or talk to him, he would approach vary close to us. Even would lean
against a leg for a minute or make a quick touch with his nose.

As I said, DH just kept "working" at it, following your advice. At our last
agility class, the dog actually reached out and put his head on his thigh
and his nose under DH's hand. And allowed an little ear rub!

It was SO great! DH was bragging all the way home!

How VERY cool! You know, most people wouldn't have had enough patience
to work through his fear. I'm sure the dog appreciates being able to
take one human off his 'Things to be scared of' list.

Well deserved, if you ask me. I LOVE happy tales.
