Pinscher: 3yrs no problem; suddenly urinating in house!
4.5Y spayed and healthy German Pinscher, though we now call her a German
Carpetpischer since she began using the living room as a toilet. We rescued her almost three years ago, and in that period she never once pee'd in the house. In fact, she has been a really wonderful pet and has us extremely well trained. However, in the past few days she's gone downstairs to squat in our living room. It's not a "marking" squirt - she's dropping a lot in one spot, leaving a single soaked circle 4" in diameter. Always early in the morning, always within a 3' circle. There's no health issue, environmental change, new animals, stress, change of diet, etc. etc. Last evening I cut off her water at 7PM and took her for a chilly walk during which she marked many enroute bushes. This morning no problem. Nevertheless, I'd like to get to the root of this. Surely we're not the only family to encounter such a problem. ??? |
