Default another humping thread..

My spayed female 5 year old APBT has taken to humping her new
"brother", 3 year old male neutered APBT (I've had him about 6
months). He pretty much just stands there and takes it.

Is this something I should intervene in? (BTW: They get along quite
well; each will initiate play, though it seems my girl sets the rules
("no, you can NOT put your dirty boypaws on me, and don't even think
about humping ME"). She does allow him to take low value toys from
her (of course I'm always supervising them) ]

I would say she is showing him who's boss, my sister has two dogs both
females and when she added the second one the "older" dog started mounting
the new dog. The 'older' dog being a small chow/springer mix and the new
one a large lab mix it is quite a sight but happens..
Does he get snappy with her when she does this??
With my sister's dogs it stopped after head dog position was established.

It depends on the circumstances, etc. One of my dogs, who's
near the bottom of the heap, has started humping Emmett,
who's definitely large and in charge. He only does it 1)
when they're playing, and 2) outside. Otherwise Saber
always defers to Emmett, to the point of not leaving his
crate while Emmett is still eating.

However, this is a situation in which they're clearly
playing and excited, and where Saber otherwise continues to
defer to Emmett. I keep an eye on it, though, and since
it's started I don't let Saber up on the furniture.
