Default Raining on the parade

Looks like we haven't had any bad news here lately, so I figured I'd
post this info that was posted through the rescue.

Some stoopid asshat of a "breeder" near Chicago has been busted, and
there are somewhere between 60 to 80 young GSDs (mostly between 6 months
and 9 months) that need help. They are currently in a high kill
shelter, and must be sprung quickly in order to be saved. Word is that
they've been wormed, and while they are skinny, are in otherwise good
health, friendly and good with other dogs. Chances are that pretty much
every rescue in the area is going to be involved in taking care of these
pups. Those of you who are involved in rescue, want to be involved in
rescue or can foster at least one of these dogs without being involved
in other rescue business, please contact the GSD rescue near you.

Suja
P.S. Latest count is 160 dogs, including the adults.

It's over 200 now. She lived in a trailer.

The biggest need right now is kennel space. There's almost nothing
available in the Chicago area because of the holiday and the shelter
is so overwhelmed that they have them chained to walls, furniture,
doors, etc..

I don't understand how this could've been allowed to go on for so long.
Nobody noticed 200 odd dogs living on one person's property?

The biggest need right now is kennel space. There's almost nothing
available in the Chicago area because of the holiday and the shelter

Ugh. I can imagine. The timing is inordinately bad, with a lot of
folks being so busy with the holidays. If I didn't already have 2 extra
dogs staying for Christmas, I would've used this opportunity to persuade
DH that we could take in a pup or two. Oddly enough, it's getting the
dog in the door that's the problem. Once the dog is here, Rajesh is
*much* more tolerant of the dogs (and their behaviors) than I am. At
the moment, I have my friend's foster staying with me. She's very needy
and clingly, and although she knows to let me know that she has to go
out, doesn't know how to follow a schedule (IOW, she'll poop and pee
when she wants to, no matter that we had been outside for an hour just
10 minutes before). It bugs the hell out of me that I can't turn around
without tripping over her, but DH finds her to be sweet.
