Default Pyrenees behavior problem

Our 6-year-old Pyrenees recently began turning over his water/food dishes and
taking them outside, or taking them near him. He doesn't chew them. This
started while we were away for two weeks, and our two dogs had a housesitter
they've had many times before, so they are very familiar with her. He also was
taking personal items of ours either outside or downstairs, and this behavior
has continued, even though we've been home a week. He's never done this
before, and we have traveled quite a bit since we've had him, always leaving
him at home with a sitter. We don't know what our response to him should be at
this point. Help???
