Default Rally support needed

Please take a minute to read the following request and one more minute to
send a quick email supporting Rally. Please post this on every list you are
on--we need to show support for Rally before the Jan meeting.

Thanks,
Kristen and

It's sad to report that Jim Crowley has only received about 100 letters
supporting Rally. If you have not yet written to support Rally, please don't
wait. The next Board meeting is January 12, and if the posts have not been
received by early January, it will be too late. I know most folks don't
think this process is needed and that Rally will pass easily in January, but
we've heard that for 4 years now. If we don't show our support NOW for
Rally, we may not get another chance. Rally could be just "postponed" or
"tabled" into history.

Please, please, please, take a moment to show your support for the sport we
love and write just a few sentences to send to Jim Crowley, AKC Executive
Secretary , in support of Rally, with the subject line reading
"Rally Support".

Below is the original post with the information and guidelines for writing.
CLUBS are also encouraged to show support, and to add the Club name to the
subject line, as I expect Club support would carry extra weight as
representing a large group of folks supporting Rally. Thanks -- I understand
that there is someone on the AKC Board who does not see the need for Rally,
and unless we get Rally supporters to show that it is important, I fear that
Rally may be permanently buried as a non regular class. Please take a moment
to help the effort to ask the AKC Board members to consider accepting Rally.

Below are guidelines as to what information should be included, and at the
bottom of the post is the address. I have contacted Jim Crowley, who is the
Executive Secretary for the AKC. He has graciously offered to forward all
letters referencing Rally to ALL of the AKC Board members. If the volume is
high (and we HOPE that it will be) he has offered to print them ALL and copy
them for each of the Board members. Now is our chance to show how MUCH
support Rally has and be heard by the folks that can make a difference for
us.
1. All correspondence should be positive and polite, like our sport. You can
be insistent, but please show the Board members the respect they deserve for
the position they have earned.
2. In the Subject Line, be sure to put "Rally Support" so that Jim can keep
track of what he needs to send to the Board.
3. Be sure to include how long you've been doing Rally, what it means to
you, the support Rally has in the form of classes in your area, and the
LARGE NUMBER OF ENTRIES whenever it's offered.
4. Any support MUST be received BEFORE the next Board meeting, which is on
January 12 -- so plan on sending something by early January at the latest.
5. Keep it to the point -- with the volume of mail we HOPE will be
generated, no one will have time to read pages of information that each
person sends, so keep the important points foremost in your mind and your
letter.
6. Be sure to include your name, E-mail address, any position of distinction
you hold with a Club or otherwise (Board member, Judge, Instructor, Trial
Secretary, Rally Exhibitor, etc.)
Please forward the information to anyone who will positively respond to the
Board in favor of Rally. If we want Rally to FINALLY be recognized, we must
have a good representation in this effort. The address to send your letters
in support of Rally is
That's for AKC Executive Secretary James
P. Crowley (but he goes by "Jim").
