Biting puppies & unattended children
I just have to say this. After reading about the 3 year old bitten by
an 8 week old puppy, my stomach turns. Parents: do not be so stupid as to not watch your children and puppies together! Nor your children with the dogs of friends - kids can get to the dog's food dish, and before you know it, you have a bitten child. I don't care how much a family dog a dog is, puppies and children, and sometimes children and full-grown dogs do not mix. You know your dogs, and you know your children. 3 year olds and 8 week old puppies unattended together is poor parenting, and frankly, the puppy is not at fault, but the parent. In some places, parents could be brought up on neglect charges for their children. And dog owners: make sure you know who is around your dog at all times. If you bring your dog to work, make sure you know where your dog is, and who is nearby. Again, don't be stupid. I have seen dogs bite kids from harassing dogs, children near dog dishes, and puppies playing with children. Think about what can or could happen before it does happen. Be sure it does not happen. Everyone will be a lot happier. |
